Roles & Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, and Big Data Engineering/Processing
- Being familiar with ETL/ELT Design and Processes
- Database and data warehouse modelling expertise
- Knowledge of machine learning models and cloud-based data engineering
- A working knowledge of API development for application integration
- Understanding of the software development life cycle. Consider Agile and Waterfall.
- To move both organised and unstructured data from the source to a new physical Data Model, establish procedures and decide what transformations are required.
- Work with data scientists to create data imputation techniques, improve the efficiency of big data and machine learning systems, and implement strategies for cleaning and preparing data for analysis.
Required Skills
- Utilising the Google Cloud tech stack for big data engineering and processing, including Big Query, Big Table, Cloud Functions, Spark, and Cloud Storage, etc.
- Knowledge of cloud data engineering on GCP, AWS, and AZURE is beneficial.
- ETL/ELT Design and Process Conceptual Knowledge (Apache Ni-Fi and Snowflake are pluses)
- Algorithms and Data Structures (Know how to use data structures appropriately and how to incorporate them into standard algorithms)
- Cloud-based technologies (Databases (BQ), Object Store (GCS), and Kubernetes)
- Strong database knowledge, including SQL and NoSQL (Oracle, MSSQL, etc.).
- Programming abilities in Java, Python, etc.
- Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities; effective communicator.
